Six people have appeared in court after being charged over allegations of abuse at a youth jail.
Police investigating reports of abusive behaviour at Medway Secure Training Centre, Rochester, charged them after an undercover BBC Panorama documentary.
Christopher Lomax, 34, of Timbertops, Chatham, Jonathan Kane, 34, of Stratford Lane, Gillingham, Matthew Cunningham, 35, of Megby Close, Gillingham, Gareth Evans, 25, of Tintagel Gardens, Rochester, James Beech, 26, of Chilton Avenue, Sittingbourne and Anthony James Dance, 26, of Hailsham have all been charged with misconduct in a public office.
All appeared before magistrates in Medway this morning. The case was adjourned and sent to Maidstone Crown Court to be dealt with and they will appear there on November 22.
None of the accused entered a pleas in relation to the case and were granted bail until then.
In July, Rebecca Harold, 24, of Grecian Street, Maidstone, was charged with common assault and appeared before Medway magistrates in August when she denied the allegation against her.
Harold is due to stand trial over the matter at the same court tomorrow.
A 25-year-old man from Oxfordshire arrested remains on police bail until November 3.
Three men aged 25, 35 and 27 and two women aged 26 and 42 have been released without charge.
