Gillingham are not safe yet, according to head coach Ady Pennock.
The Gills made it two victories out of three in League 1 on Saturday by winning 2-1 away to Bury.
They are six points clear of the drop zone but Pennock has warned anyone thinking that means it is job done to think again.
“There is still a lot to be done, we can’t rest on our laurels and think we’ve won this game, that’s it,” he stated.
“There is a big game on Saturday (against Scunthorpe) and we just have to keep looking for three points. It is so tight down there. If we lose next week then we are back to square one again.
“Two wins on the spin would be nice, along with a clean sheet. I would love a clean sheet, I really would!"
Bradley Dack returned from injury with a goal at Bury after a brief spell out with a hamstring problem.
Pennock said: “I am pleased for Dack because he was outstanding. He kept things ticking over for us.”
And it was a second goal in a week for striker Cody McDonald, who headed home Dack’s second-half corner to give Gills a 2-0 lead.
“Cody’s finish was top drawer,” added Pennock. “We were very pleased with both of them."
The three points was just the second time Pennock has enjoyed a win during his 11 games in charge, but he insisted that he is still loving every minute of managing his local team.
“I don’t feel the pressure,” said Hempstead-based Pennock. “I just give it my all. I have a good team around me, with (coaches) Steve Lovell, Jamie Day and Ian Pledger, plus Bob the kit man and Gaz the physio.
“I needed to lay down after that win but I loved it, absolutely loved it. I am loving the job. The chairman has been top drawer and there is a real togetherness here.”
