Visitors Medway proved too strong for London Cornish, running out 46-20 winners in Regional 2 South East.
Medway got the ball rolling with a second-minute penalty, fly-Half Owen Church-Mills on target, soon followed by an eight-phase move with skipper Antony Clement crossing the whitewash.
Things got better with a second try, No.8. Todd Johnson’s smart pass setting up lock Dan Jackson, with Church-Mills adding the extras.
Cornish hit back with a penalty and a second Medway transgression was also punished to reduce the lead to nine points, but Jordan Stubbington plucked the ball from a Church-Mills kick for a third score. With another conversion, Medway led 22-6, before Tom Beaumont got in on the act following a lineout, making it four tries in the first half.
The home team improved after the break, a converted try making it 27-13, and they then put Medway on the back foot for 15 minutes before good work by Max Bullock, John Sipawa and Mac Perry ended with Connor Chalmers applying the finishing touch.
Replacements Sean Marriott and Zeki Yesilmen both made positive impacts, Marriott powering through 40 metres before unlawful play ended his run. A yellow card for Cornish was punished when Yesilmen combined with Ryan Eastley for another well-taken try.
The gap was closed with another home effort, but Medway had the last word with Bullock the provider for Ben Dance to add his name to the scoresheet.
Sixth-placed Medway are back in league action on January 27 at home to Sutton & Epsom.
