Bradley Dack brought up his Gills century in style on Saturday.
The 21-year-old made his 100th appearance for the club against Rochdale and he scored what turned out to the winner on 14 minutes.
Dack said: "One of the boys did say before the game that they’d seen in the programme it was my 100th appearance. It was a nice feeling, especially to score.
"I’m 21, so there’s hopefully many more to come. It was pleasing to get a goal, especially at that end with my family sitting in the corner and on my 100th game.
"It was a rare (header), to be fair. I think my first ever goal for Gillingham was a header and I’m not sure if I’ve scored one since. It was nice to get a header.
"It felt like a free header, there wasn’t really any pressure, so I just had to guide it into the net."
Rochdale had two players sent off but man-of-the-match Dack's early goal was all that separated the sides at full-time.
He said: "It was nice to get the goal early. I think that settled us down a little bit.
"I don’t think I had the best game but you get games like that, when when you’ve got to grind them out and dig in. As long as you work 100%, the gaffer can’t really ask for much more.
"You want to play your best every game but that’s not possible. We did well and we dug in.
"The second half performance wasn’t great and we know we can improve on that but we’ve got to take it as it comes."
