Gillingham’s top scorer Bradley Dack is not for sale, chairman Paul Scally has insisted.

Interest in the 21-year-old has grown after an impressive start to the season from the attacking midfielder which has seen him score five goals in seven games.

The speculation surrounding his future with the Gills has heightened with the transfer window for permanent deals closing at 6pm on Tuesday.

But Mr Scally made it clear that Dack – and the club’s other top young players – are staying put.

“There is no money that would buy Bradley Dack at the moment, nothing at all,” stressed Mr Scally.

“All of the players are priceless right now because they are important to what we are trying to achieve. We are trying to get into the Championship, which makes everyone’s life a lot easier because of the incomes.”

Dack is contracted to the Gills until the summer of 2018 and clubs would have to bid big to tempt Mr Scally to sell.

“I haven’t considered a figure (for Dack), there is no need to," said the chairman.

"There is no money that could buy anyone in this team right now. If we start to break the team up that we are looking to create then it would be pointless.

“I think they could play higher and if we can get into the Championship then we have a better chance of keeping players that want to play Championship football which is pretty understandable really.”
