Danny Kedwell missed from the penalty spot for the third time this season, against Leyton Orient.
And boss Peter Taylor insists he’s not afraid to take penalties off Gills’ main striker if he feels it’s necessary.
Prior to this season Kedwell’s ratio from the penalty spot was impressive, having scored 19 from 21 in the previous three campaigns. But he has scored just two from five this season, although two of those misses were converted with rebounds.
“I didn’t think it was a good penalty,” said Taylor, when asked about his latest spot-kick, arriving just six minutes into the game.
“He promised me he was going to go for power after he scored from the rebounds (on previous occasions). I said I don’t want another one like that but he said he was going for power. He didn’t.
“I will be talking to him Monday morning about that. I would be brave enough to (take him off penalties) if I didn’t think he was right.”
