John Egan and Joe Martin will be hoping to fend off injuries in time to play Coventry City.

Both travelled to Crewe last weekend but neither was fit enough to play.

Egan missed out with a foot injury while Joe Martin was suffering with a calf injury.

Gills’ caretaker management team will be keeping a close eye on the pair for Saturday and could bring in replacements if required.

Coach Steve Lovell said: “John is a good player and has been good for us this year but when you are carrying an injury, you would rather not play him and play someone who is 100%.

“He has been a consistent performer and any consistent performer is going to be a big miss. Joe Martin also pulled out on the Saturday morning and that upset the plans a bit but we took a squad big enough in case that did happen.

“Both have a chance (this weekend), John more so than Joe and we will assess that in training on Thursday and work around it.”

Midfielder Amine Linganzi and Aaron Morris both miss out with hamstring strains, while forward Danny Galbraith missed Monday’s development game with the same problem.
