Time is running out to enter the Medway Sports Awards.
From clubs, teams and individuals to coaches, volunteers and schools, the Medway Sports Awards shine a light on the achievements of Medway’s finest sportspeople and the dedication of the individuals who make sport happen in Medway.
The categories are Sportsperson of the Year, Junior Sportsperson of the Year, Club of the Year, Junior Club of the Year, Team of the Year, Junior Team of the Year, Coach of the Year, Official of the Year, Primary School of the Year, Secondary School of the Year and Unsung Hero of the Year.
Shortlisted nominees in each category will be invited to a gala celebration evening on December 13 at Rochester’s Corn Exchange, when gold, silver and bronze winners will be announced.
Previous individual winners have included gold-medal Olympic hockey goalkeeper Maddie Hinch, Paralympic gold-medal winning skier Charlotte Evans, professional boxers Karol and Moses Itauma and England Wheelchair Rugby League player Joe Coyd.
Cllr Nina Gurung, Portfolio Holder for Heritage, Culture and Leisure, said: “It is really exciting to see the return of the Medway Sports Awards - it is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate and recognise all of the amazing sporting success in Medway as well as our heroes who have inspired people in and beyond Medway!
“If you know anybody who you think deserves to be recognised, make sure you put their name forward!”
The Medway Sports Awards are organised by Medway Council, sponsored by Willmott Dixon and supported by the Medway Messenger. The awards cover achievements during the period October 1, 2022 to October 31, 2024.
