Invicta dynamos suffered league and cup defeats at the weekend.

A close-fought encounter against the Wightlink Raiders on Saturday saw Invicta lose 8-7.

It was a match that doubled up as a Challenge Cup and NIHL Division 1 South fixture.

The following day, the Mos were beaten 7-2 by EPL side Milton Keynes Lightning in their second Challenge Cup match.

Saturday’s league defeat will be the biggest concern to Invicta, who have now won two and lost two of their opening four games.

Juraj Huska’s early strike had put the Mos ahead on the Isle of Wight. The hosts struck back twice to go 2-1 up but Huska’s second levelled it at the end of the first.

Billy Phillips - back after a ban - scored on his Invicta debut but by the end of the second the Raiders were leading 4-3.

Huska and Andy Smith scored twice in the final period and, with the hosts leading 8-7, Charlie Phillips struck an effort against the frame on 59:59.

Invicta were on level terms with EPL side Lightening at the end of the first period thanks to a goal from Osman.

Billy Phillips was also on target in the match but the Mos were beaten for the second time in the competition in two days.
