Gillingham boss Justin Edinburgh is backing his side to triumph at Barnsley in League 1

Justin Edinburgh is backing his Gillingham team to end a miserable run of form at Barnsley.
The Gills haven’t won at the Yorkshire side’s Oakwell Stadium since Basil Hayward’s team triumphed 1-0 back in 1968.
Gillingham have lost on their last four visits, conceding 12 goals.
Edinburgh’s main priority is to bounce back from last weekend’s first league defeat of the season, at Colchester.
The Gills boss said: “We had a similar record against Swindon and went there and
won.
“I don’t look into records too much but I do know they are always going to be broken.
“We know we are in for a tough game, against a team who have spent a lot of money in the summer and probably have one of the top-four budgets in the league. There is pressure on them to gain promotion.
“But the game is no tougher than Colchester, Port Vale, Bradford or Peterborough.”
Colchester’s 2-1 win last Saturday knocked the Gills off top spot and ended a run of seven games without loss since League 1 kicked off.
“We are disappointed but being defeated away from home is no embarrassment,” said the manager.
