A female steward who collapsed at Gillingham Football Club’s weekend match was given the all-clear after being attended to by medical staff.

The League 1 fixture at Priestfield between the Gills and Bolton Wanderers was delayed for several minutes at the start of the second half as medical personnel from both clubs went to the aid of the woman at the front of the away end.

She was eventually stretchered away from the area while play had got under way. She was later given the all-clear and allowed to return home that evening.

The Gills were messaged after the match by the woman's partner, who said that she had collapsed due to an epileptic seizure and wrote: “A massive thank you to all the Gillingham and Bolton medical team and the paramedics who looked after her.”
