Gills boss Steve Lovell wants to see more from the returning Bradley Garmston.

The defender was left out of the squad on Friday night.

He is just returning from injury, making appearances off the bench in Gills’ two previous games, against Bristol Rovers and Carlisle.

Lovell said: “I had a little chat (with Bradley) and felt the last couple of games he has come on he hasn’t been himself.

“I want him to get himself sorted because he is a good player.

“I want him available in our squad but I can’t have him available if I don’t think he is right yet.

“He has to get himself right. When he is right he tells me and then he will be in the squad.

“I want him to get fit because it gives Connor Ogilvie a little bit of competition (at left-back) and he gives us something a little different on the attacking side.

“I felt Connor was brilliant (in the win over Fleetwood on Friday), he had a great game. We have competition now everywhere and it has to be like that.”

Back-up goalkeeper Stuart Nelson missed Friday night’s game due to a funeral.
