Gillingham’s good form won’t make life any easier at home.

Fleetwood are the visitors this weekend and the Gills know it will be down to them to break them down.

With three straight wins behind them, few teams are likely to come to Priestfield and play open attacking football.

Looking ahead to this weekend’s game, Lovell said: “We had a good result there (winning 2-0) and it was nice to bounce back after the Carlisle (FA Cup defeat).

“Like I say every week it’s a tough game they all are. They will be organised and they will cause problems so we have to prepare and see if we can continue our run.

“We know the way they play and the way they set up but teams can come down and change their set up, so we have to be mindful of that.

“I have always said it is about us really. If teams come down and set up differently then we have to work on how we are going to break them down.

“You can’t blame teams coming down and perhaps sitting deep and playing five at the back. If they do that when they come down that’s a compliment really to the way that we are playing at the moment.”

Gillingham will be without Scott Wagstaff for the match as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
