Gillingham have made four senior players available for transfer.

Striker Oli Hawkins is one of those the club are willing to let go, along with fellow front-man Ashley Nadesan, attacking midfielder George Lapslie and left-back Scott Malone.

More: Clemence’s departing statement

Nadesan joined the Gills last summer but dropped out of favour under previous boss Stephen Clemence. Hawkins found his place in the team under threat following Josh Andrews arrival in the first team.

Lapslie played 40 games last season while Malone was a regular off the bench as Max Clark was the prefered pick on the left side of defence.

New boss Mark Bonner will want to bring his own men in this summer and needs to make space for new arrivals.

Eight players are definitely leaving following the expiry of their contracts, including striker Macauley Bonne - who played the second half of last season on loan at Cambridge United – and captain Shaun Williams.

Williams, now 37, was made captain last summer by former boss Neil Harris but barely featured under Clemence.

Experienced keeper Glenn Morris, 40, and young midfielder Dom Jefferies have both been offered new terms as their contracts expire this summer.

The club would be compensated should any team take Jefferies, as he is under 24.

Morris was replaced as no.1 by Jake Turner last season but made 14 appearances in the season.

Those also leaving the club are young pros Ike Orji, Matty Macarthur, Ronald Sithole, Josh Chambers, Kieron Agbebi and young goalie Nathan Harvey. Those players were part of the B Team group.

In contract with the Gills and in the plans for next season under Bonner are Jake Turner, Max Ehmer, Shad Ogie, Conor Masterson, Sam Gale, Alex Giles, Robbie McKenzie, Max Clark, Remeao Hutton, Jonny Williams, Tim Dieng, Ethan Coleman, Jayden Clarke, Joe Gbode and Josh Andrews.

Loan players returned to their parent clubs are Connor Mahoney, Josh Walker and Jorge Hurtado. Mahoney had stated his desire to stay under the previous regime.

The club said that “for those leaving the club, we wish all players the very best for the future.”

Gillingham have yet to confirm details of which youth players will be offered professional terms.
