Gillingham boss Steve Lovell expects more to happen at Priestfield before the transfer deadline

The transfer window closes in less than a week and Gillingham boss Steve Lovell expects to be busy right up until the deadline.
Only free agents can be signed once the window closes late on Wednesday night.
Asked if it could go down to the wire, Lovell said: “Yes, definitely. But, like I said to the chairman, there is not a lot that we need.”
The Gills remain hopeful of bringing Sean Clare back to the club from Sheffield Wednesday, while Lovell is also eyeing up other potential recruits.
Last week Bury midfielder Callum Reilly joined on loan until the end of the season, with a view to making it permanent, and more new faces are set to follow.
“I was really pleased to get him in,” Lovell said.
“He’s the kind of player I wanted and the chairman has done great for me to bring him in. He was magnificent on Saturday.
“He gave us the balance on the left side of midfield and it helped Jake (Hessenthaler), as he moved to the right side, I thought he had a very good game, he was excellent.”
It’s Lovell’s first taste of the transfer window as a manager.
“It has been an eye-opener for me," he said. "Anything could still happen.”
