“We should have been out of sight. If you keep clean sheets you win games and the goal we conceded was unacceptable.
“I told them a few home truths afterwards.
“I apologise to the chairman because I have just done a few things in the (changing room) where things got broken but that happens doesn’t it?
“It was very poor they should be winning that game three or four nil in my opinion.”

“You have to manage the game,” he said.
“I told them game management is huge.

“I feel bitterly disappointed for the fans because they were top drawer.
“To concede a goal like we did was not good enough and I feel sorry for them. They got behind the boys from the first whistle and they knew what it meant to us."
Despite the late blow, the Gills did boss the game.
Pennock said: “There were some good performances, and we created some good chances, but you have to take those chances.
“Their keeper made some good saves but we need to score two to win a game and that’s not good enough.”
