Gillingham manager Justin Edinburgh wants Brennan Dickenson to nail down a position in the team

Justin Edinburgh admits he is still unsure where Brennan Dickenson’s best position is.
And the Gills boss believes it is now down to the player to show him just where he is best suited.
Dickenson - who scored for the development team on Tuesday - came on for the final 15 minutes of Saturday’s League 1 game against Colchester United. It was his first appearance since Edinburgh took over as manager.
The Gills manager said: “It is really about Brennan nailing a position down to where he is going to be able to really push for a starting berth in the team.
“I have seen him play wide and down the middle and I am still not sure where (his best position is) and I don’t think he knows.
“We have said to him, maybe identify a position, try and nail it and go for it."
Dickenson, who is one of the fastest players in the Gills squad, was signed in the summer on a two-year deal after leaving Brighton & Hove Albion
Edinburgh added: “I am not saying you have to be one dimensional, that you can only play one position, but sometimes you have to try and pin your hat on a position, try and stick to that, get in and hold down a position rather than flipping from one to another.”
