The games take place on Thursday, November 14 and Tuesday, November 19 respectively.

It means 20-year-old O'Connor will miss Gillingham's EFL Trophy match against Tottenham under-21s on Tuesday - as well as the League 1 match at home to Lincoln City on November 16.

O'Connor has made 13 appearances for the Gills this season since joining on loan from Premier League Southampton.

Also selected in the squad was Millwall defender Danny McNamara, who is currently on loan at Newport. The right-back spent time on loan last season at Welling and Dover, where he was well liked by both sets of supporters.

Aston Villa's Jack Clarke receives his first under-21 call-up while Hearts striker Aidan Keena is the third new face, along with O'Connor, named by the Republic of Ireland.
