Gillingham Justin Edinburgh is keen for Cardiff City defender Deji Oshilaja to make a return to Priestfield

Justin Edinburgh is hoping Cardiff City can do some transfer business soon.
The Gills manager needs the Championship side to bring in another central defender, which would then allow Deji Oshilaja to make a return to Priestfield.
Cardiff are operating under a transfer embargo, but they are permitted to make a loan signing as long as they don’t overstretch their playing budget.
Oshilaja hasn’t played for the Bluebirds since returning to Wales. He was on the bench for their FA Cup game against Shrewsbury but didn’t make the matchday squad for either of their last two Championship matches.
Edinburgh said: “We want to get him back and whether that is going to happen we don’t know.
“There is a pecking order. Cardiff will want to get one in. Deji is the one sitting there just in case at the moment.
“We are in a queue and we know where we are in that queue.”
Edinburgh is also keen on signing an attacking midfielder.
Playing his last game of his current loan spell on Saturday will be striker Dominic Samuel. Edinburgh is keen to extend that stay for as long as possible.
He said: “We will speak to Reading in the next few days to see what the situation is with Dominic. I guess Reading are going to give me the same answer as Cardiff: ‘let’s see what business we do and we will go from there’."
