Boss Justin Edinburgh won’t be waving the white flag if things don’t go to plan for Gillingham at Bristol City this weekend.

The Gills have an outside chance of making the play-offs and follow up a game against the League 1 leaders tomorrow (Saturday) with a midweek trip to Chesterfield.

Edinburgh’s side sit 14th but are just four points adrift of the play-off places.

He said: "Games are running out but I don’t think these two games will be make-or-break, unless the results all go against us. We will have to wait and see.

"You might have looked at the game against Barnsley (which Gills lost 1-0) and thought, ‘well that might have left the team too far away from the chasing pack’ but we then had two fantastic results, against Doncaster and Swindon, two teams that are chasing the play-offs as well.

"It will go down to the last two or three games of the season. Sheffield United are starting to falter a bit and that leaves two positions open.

"We have to keep showing the consistency we have because we are in a good rich vein of form and if we can continue that, then who knows?"
