Gillingham have completed the signing of winger Jack Nolan from Accrington Stanley.

The 23-year-old is the third new face at the Gills this summer following on from the arrival of striker Elliott Nevitt and midfielder Armani Little.

Nolan was offered a deal by Accrington at the end of the season but turned it down in favour of heading south to play for the Gills.

Gills boss Mark Bonner said: “Jack joins following an excellent season and at an age and stage of his career where he has accumulated good experience but, vitally, has lots more to come.

“It’s his potential that excites me and gives us all a challenge to get the best out of him.

"He’s determined to continue performing at a high level and will add quality to us in a wide area. Jack has outstanding delivery from crosses and set plays, is coming off the back of a season full of goals and assists, and will fit well in to our team."

He played 53 games for Stanley last season, scoring 17 goals and assisting another nine, ending the season with a brace and a man-of-the-match performance in a 4-1 win over Tranmere.

Nolan started his career with Reading without making a league appearance for them and eventually joined Walsall, where he spent 18 months.

His career took off at Accrington, making 17 appearances in the 2022/23 season before becoming one of the division’s best players last term.

Nolan’s the third player after Nevitt and Little to have rejected fresh terms with their former clubs in favour of moving to the Gills.

On leaving Accrington, he said: "I'd just like to say a massive thank you to everyone associated with Accrington Stanley for the last three years, by far the most I have enjoyed my football in my career so far!

"From players past and present, staff both on the pitch and off it, and to Andy Holt and the rest of the Board, I thank you all for making my time at the club one to remember.

"To the fans and the community of Accrington, I thank you all for treating myself and my family as one of your own from the very first day and is something we are all grateful for.

"I've met people at the club and in the area that will remain friends for life. I wish John, Ged, and all the lads the very best for the new season ahead. I will be back at Accrington soon, as a fan, that's for sure."
