Leaders Blackburn could be without star man Bradley Dack for their visit to Gillingham on Tuesday night.

Dack is in the running for League 1 player-of-the-season after a brilliant campaign, netting 15 goals from midfield.

But, having been substituted inside 11 minutes of Rovers' win over Southend on Saturday, Dack could miss out on a return to Priestfield.

Gills boss Steve Lovell said: “He is a lovely fella, I get on really well with him, I don’t wish injuries on anybody but I just hope he doesn’t play against us because he is quality.

“If he does then we will try and manage him.”

Rovers boss Tony Mowbray hopes Dack’s early withdrawal means he’ll be fit for the midweek clash.

Mowbray said: “We took him off as a precaution. He felt his hamstring slightly and with a burst away there’s always a chance it could tear and he’d miss the rest of the season.

“It was better to take him off. He’ll definitely want to play against Gillingham.”

He was due to be assessed on Sunday and Dack tweeted: “Injury isn’t too bad, doing everything I can to be fit for Tuesday.”

Dack has been selected in League 1’s team of the season, voted for by the managers in the division, and Lovell is a big fan of the player who made a £750,000 switch to Ewood Park from Gillingham last summer.
