Kevin Watson takes Chatham Town to one of his least favourite grounds on this weekend.

Chats, who beat Brightlingsea Regent 5-1 at Maidstone Road on Tuesday night, make the short trip to Aveley in Ryman League Division 1 North on Saturday.

Victory in midweek took Chatham's points total to seven from their first four games.

Watson said: "Tuesday was important because it puts us just about where we need to be. But by no stretch of the imagination do we go into Saturday coasting.

"If we win on Saturday, that puts us in front of where we need to be but if we lose, we’re behind where we need to be.

"Aveley on Saturday will be a completely different type of game. It’s a difficult place to go. The atmosphere is odd and it feels like a lonely place.

"I never liked going there as a player and we haven’t got a great track record there.

"I went to watch them on Monday and they beat Sudbury, who are a good side, convincingly."

Chatham were missing Greg Benbow, Kane Phillip and Brad Potter against Brightlingsea but they should all be available for the weekend. Liam Hickey begins a three-match suspension on Saturday and Laurence Collins’ ankle injury means he still won’t be involved.
