Whittall finished in 30min51sec to claim his maiden victory in the league while Wright had to settle for third in 31.01 with NEJ Running Club’s Martyn Millard (30.54) taking second.

Two further Medway & Maidstone athletes made the top 10, with Chris Rampling (7th, 31.44) and Daniel St Martin (9th, 31.54). Those results, along with the strong performances from the M&M men throughout the age categories saw the men’s team finish first in the team standings for the third time this season.

Taryne McPherson, racing for the second time over the weekend, continued her consistent run of form, finishing as fourth lady (38.33) to maintain her challenge at the top of the ladies standings.
