Gillingham’s returning stars are set for a low-key return this week.

Bradley Dack, John Egan and Cody McDonald are all likely to be involved on Tuesday for the development squad in a game against AFC Wimbledon.

Egan is the latest player to return from injury. He was named on the bench against Coventry, returning after missing Gillingham’s last seven games following a knee injury picked up in training.

Assistant manager David Kerslake said: “We are delighted to have him back and seeing him in training gives the players a lift.

“He has been exceptional for us this season and I am sure he will play a major part in the run-in.

“It has been a huge boost watching John come back into the squad.”

Dack was warming up before kick-off and he was close to being involved at the weekend as well.

“Dack was chomping at the bit and wanted to be involved,” said Kerslake.

“He will get some sort of game on Tuesday with the under-21s.”

Dack hasn’t played since picking up a hamstring injury at home to Chesterfield at the end of February.

McDonald has been an unused substitute for the last two matches and is lacking match fitness. He hasn’t played since breaking his foot in the game at Millwall on December 19.

Kerslake said: “Cody will play and we will sharpen him up."
