Gillingham are hopeful Mark Byrne can play on Saturday despite breaking a bone in his hand.
The midfielder played the final stages of Gills’ game against Bury with the injury.
He is due to see a specialist and will hope to play with a splint when the Gills travel to Walsall this weekend.
The injury was sustained after going up for a header and landing awkwardly.
“I heard it snap and knew it was broke,” said the midfielder.

Byrne, a consistent performer this season, has just reclaimed his place in the team after being held back by a hamstring strain.
Gillingham are already missing defensive midfielder Billy Bingham after his recent ankle break.
