Medway Area Sunday League round-up (10/10/21)

County Cup action took centre stage on Sunday with mixed fortunes for Medway Area Sunday League sides.

Doubles from Andrew O’Neil and Brad Jones plus a Tommy Hambrook goal helped Wigmore win 5-1 at Anchorians in the Kent Premier Cup second round.

A hat-trick for Jack Couzens and a Sam Stace brace saw home Chatham Town SR win 5-0 against Medway Sport.

Dan Haggar, Ewan Greenway, Jamie Dray and Robbie Keen netted for Cuxton 1991 as they ran out 5-2 winners against Medway Rovers 17.

Ediz Ali, Harry Nash, Rob Tolputt and Jack Latter scored the Eagles goals in their 4-2 extra-time win against Cliffe Woods Rangers.

Liam Caine and Zack Wells were on target for Rainham Kenilworth Athletic in their 2-1 victory over Cliffe Woods Colts.

Riverside Academy lost 3-2 after extra-time to Anchorians Athletic in the Kent Junior Cup second round. Josh West and Asabere Boateng scored for Riverside but Will Mawson, Jack Paine and Taylor Tuck-Brown sent the visitors through.

Jamie Gillen, Jez Hammond (2), Scott Craig and Ross Wornham were on target in High Halstow’s 5-2 victory over Cliffe Woods Colts A. Jack Burnham scored both goals for the visitors.

Swale Madrid were shaded 2-1 by Medway Invicta as Michael Hurcomb and Owen Longman outscored Morgan Elavia.

Bredhurst Juniors United lost 5-3 on penalties to Sheerness East in the second round of the Kent Junior Trophy following a 4-4 extra-time draw. Ellis Barrett (2), Henry Wells and Bradley Whitten scored for Bredhurst.

Phil Swatton and Ashley Trigg’s goals saw Cliffe Woods Colts Reserves triumph 2-0 against Red Lion.

Yomi Yusuph (2), Yemi Yusuph and Kane Hutton netted in Darland Spartans' 4-2 win over Anchorians United.

Ellis Athletic shaded AFC Shorne 3-2, despite Kieran Wells and Aman Gill scoring for the visitors.

Sam Baker (2) and Jason Manderson scored for Medway United West but they went down 5-3 to New Inn Reds.

Park Regis came out on top in a game of 13 goals after extra-time against Thamesview Rangers, winning 8-5. Jack Hardy (2), Louie Bull, Tom Lichfield and Connor Rayfield netted for Rangers.

In league action, Division 1 ASK Medway had a 4-2 victory over Thamesview thanks to Lee Hewitt, Tom Wooding, Yomi Olowofoyuku and Bobby Stuart. William Flack scored both goals in reply.

Gian Luca (2) scored both New Brompton 1893 goals in their 5-2 defeat to Omega 92, whose goals came from Matthew Pemberton (2), Jamie Nash (2) and Lee Gambell.

David Kilinc (3), Mike Curran (2), Grant Laker and Jordan Vidler scored for Rochester in their 7-1 Division 2 win over Medway United Central, who replied through Leon Corcoran.

Bredhurst Juniors won 9-2 at Palmerston Athletic thanks to Cameron Walker, Harry Philpot, Reis’s Elvin (2), George Cowdrey, Caiden Still (3) and an own goal by Sean Gilham. Jamie Stace and Oludare Alabi bagged for the hosts.

In Division 3, Bradley Fox, Freddie Gardiner, Tom Kingsley, Bailey Hooker and Stan Barnett (4) all netted for Eagles Gold in their 8-1 victory over Fleur De Lis, Mike Kemsley with their consolation.

Four players - Kai Osborne, Rhys Nolan, Bradley Taylor and John Hickman- scored doubles in Real 60's 12-1 victory over Lipscomb Fiat. Will Davis, Aaron Hawks, Tom Wright and an own goal completed the tally.

In Division 4, Swallow Rise 93 Reserves shared six goals and the points in a 3-3 draw with Tunbury Athletic. Josh Jones (2) and Tom Mayal netted for Swallow, Dominic Lloyd (2) and Danny Stevens for Athletic.

Milton & Fulston Zebras lost 5-0 to Medway Knights thanks to Paul Wittington, Dan Hawkins, Graeme Barnes and Nathan Young (2).

The Stumble went down 6-0 to London Road who scored through Cameron Davies (2), Will Crump, Kieran Nash, Jack Bateman and Kieron Bennett.
