Medway Area Sunday League round-up (20/10/24): Woodpecker win 28-0 in Kent Sunday Junior Trophy

There were 14 different scorers as Woodpecker went goal crazy in the Kent Sunday Junior Trophy.

Woodpecker thrashed Palmerston Athletic 28-0 in their second-round tie with goals from Sam Crayford (2), Jack Dye (5), Joel Wakefield (3), Tom Snow (3), Harry Aldum (3), Cam Croucher (3), Bill Newlands, Louie Bull, Brandon Neal, Scott Craig, Brad Neal (2), Archie Ledwich, Dan Bigg and Jordan Spiers.

Sam Kellier’s strike was not enough as Walderslade WMC went down 4-1 to Faversham Strike Force.

Rochester Eagles Reserves won 4-2 on penalties after drawing 2-2 in 90 minutes with Kent Sands United. Liam Badham and Ellis Rowden scored for Eagles.

Glen Martin (2), Chris Jackson and Edward Holmes were on the scoresheet in The Stumble’s 4-2 win against Kent Marina, who replied through Andy McAlindon and Luke Bridge.

Strood eased through in the Kent Sunday Junior Cup second round with a 6-0 success over Range Rovers Colts.

Goals from Fraser Jennings (2), Josh Brown, Alfie Montague, Shane Alderston and Leyton Davis ensured their progress.

Athletic Bilbowls shaded Eagles 3-2 thanks to George Young (2) and Jake Chapman.

Borstal Wanderers lost 5-4 on penalties against The Park Tavern following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.

Reece Germano, Loz Finney and Josh Brooker were on target in Caspian Tigers’ 3-2 win against AEI Sports, Aman Gill scored both goals in reply.

Medway Sportage and New Inn Blues drew 3-3 after 90 minutes before Medway Sportage won 4-3 on penalties. Aaron Lorentson, Will Halliday and Oliver Dudman netted in normal time for the victors.

Westfield Sole won 3-1 against Rochester Eagles, whose goal came from Jack Vince.

In league action, a Will Sims hat-trick plus Tom Mercer led Medway Invicta to a 5-1 Premier Division victory over Black Eagles Athletic.

James Creber (2) and Ainsley Linton netted in Springhead Park’s 3-2 victory against Chatham Town SR, who replied through Richard Carty and Jack Couzens.

Division 4 Wigmore Wanderers had a convincing 8-2 win against Medway United. George Hennessey (4), Tom Spearink (2), James Lundie and Ben Hetterley did the damage while Harrison Cuckow scored both goals for Medway United.

In Division 5, Jacob Palmby (2), Jacob Chaplin, Kamahl Robinson, Jay Vincent, Richard Lloynes and Kieran Greenfield United were all on target in Dockyard United’s 7-1 win over Pegasus 81 Reserves.
