Medway’s 36-20 win over Old Colfeians in Regional 2 South East was their third in a row.
After an opening-day defeat to Old Tiffinians Medway have responded well and started Saturday’s game on the front foot.
They were soon rewarded when a grubber from fly-half Charlie Wardzynski was picked up by Pete Cole, and he took it over the line with Harrison Fermor converting.
Colfeians replied with a converted try off the back of a scrum and then led by three after a penalty, but Medway responded quickly and second-row Cole found himself on the wing where he set-up scrum-half Noah Hyde to make it 12-10.
They didn't stay ahead for long, though, and after a string of penalties the Old Boys put three more points on the board.
Medway were quick to get back in the game after the turnaround with prop Deji Oyesola getting a third try, Fermor again converting, and another penalty on the 22 extended Medway’s lead to 22-13.
The hosts kept applying the pressure and a fourth try from Dan Jackson extended the gap.
Player-of-the-match Wardzynski set up the final score for the home side with a pass to Conor Chalmers, who made it past two players and straight under the posts. An easy conversion for Fermor made it 36-13, but the Old Boys then went over to have the last word.
Medway, in third, return to action at Old Reigatians on October 12.
