Two girls from Medway Rugby Club have been picked for the England under-20 Six Nations squad.
Hailed as an “unbelievable achievement for our club”, Amelia Williams and Sophie Molton have made the final squad for the tournament.
The England squad hold their next pathway camp on February 15-18, ahead of matches in March, April and May.
In addition, Abi Pritchard has been called up to the England under-18 Six Nations squad.
In a joint statement, girls’ manager Kate Kuhn and girls’ section chair Matt Kuhn said: “As a club, we are incredibly proud of Sophie and Amelia for reaching such a high standard of rugby.
“Amelia has always been incredibly powerful, dominant in all aspects of the physical side of the game, she was always a game changer.
“Sophie’s work rate, energy and motivational skills shined through at every training session and in every match, another game changer in this respect.”
The pair are two of five Medway girls players who have gained England under-18 and under-20 caps over the past few years at Medway.
“They were a pleasure to coach and manage,” they continued. “We will be cheering them on as they continue their journeys to the Red Roses and who knows, maybe even the Women’s British Lions squad.”
