Gillingham’s home game against Chesterfield has been moved for TV coverage.

The League 2 clash at Priestfield, on Saturday, August 31, will now kick off at 12.30pm rather than 3pm.

It will be shown live on the new Sky Sports+ channel which is replacing the iFollow service.

Gillingham and Chesterfield are among the favourites for promotion.

The Gills, under new boss Mark Bonner, have made no secret of their ambition to return to League 1.

The Spireites, meanwhile, are back in the Football League following a six-year absence after winning the National League last season.

They’re aiming to emulate Wrexham who won automatic promotion in their first year back in League 2.

The Gills last met Chesterfield during the 2016/17 League 1 season, with both fixtures ending in a draw.

Scott Wagstaff scored an injury-time equaliser to salvage a 3-3 draw for Gillingham in the away game.

It was Chesterfield’s turn to snatch a point in added time as the return game at Priestfield ended 1-1, Tom Anderson cancelling out Max Ehmer’s opener.
