National South side Welling United have signed former Gillingham midfielder Darren Oldaker.

Oldaker links up with Steve Lovell, the ex Gills boss, who is now in charge of the Wings.

Darren Oldaker played 33 games in total for Gillingham

He joins Welling after a spell in the Isthmian League with Hythe Town. A move to the National South side gives him the chance to carry on playing following the suspension of the Isthmian League season.

Oldaker played 21 league games for the Gills before leaving and spending time with Billericay.

The Wings are in action on Saturday and Oldaker is likely to be involved in their match against Dartford at Princes Park.
