Invicta Dynamos coach Kevin Parrish is delighted to see the emergence of another bright young talent.

Forward Jake Luton was called up from the Mustangs on Sunday and made a scoring debut in the 8-2 win over the Bracknell Hornets.

Parrish is a big fan in bringing talent through the ranks but insists they must be ready for the challenge first.

He said: “Jake stepped up and it was good to see that he can do a job. Scoring on your debut is massive.

“Hopefully, he enjoyed it and it makes him want it more. He played well and although he’s not massive, at about 5ft 6in, he wears his heart on his sleeve. I’ve no worries about calling on him again.”

Luton follows the likes of Kwame Holt to have made the jump into the senior team but Parrish is still wary about promoting players too soon.

He said: “I want to bring kids through and not just go around bringing guys in but this league is tough. Three or four years ago players, could make the step up easier."
