Louis Greene suffered a defeat in his fight for the English welterweight title.
The Strood boxer lost by a unanimous decision against Derby’s Harry Scarff at Wembley Arena on Saturday night.
Greene met Scarff for the vacant belt infront of the live Sky Sports cameras.
It was a big night for the Medway Mauler, going the distance in the 10-round fight, but he came up short.
Scarff credited the Medway boxer for making a fight of it but felt he was always on top, saying: “I kept it at arm’s length, outboxed him, he was trying to lure me in and looking for a big shot but I kept it basic.
“I felt like I controlled the fight throughout and it wa a comfortable night but credit to Louis Greene, he was tough, he was always trying, but I have got a horrible style and he didn’t know what to do with it.”
Greene, 29, has now lost three of his 16 professional bouts. His other losses came in title scraps against Lewis Crocker in August 2020, fighting for the vacant World Boxing Organisation European welterweight title and his 2018 match against Larry Ekundayo for the IBF European belt.
