Hollands & Blair manager Scott Porter has left the club – seeking a new challenge.
Porter had been with Blair since November 2021 and his last game in charge was on Saturday, leading the SCEFL Premier Division side to a 1-0 win over Sutton Athletic. It was announced on Tuesday that he had joined Lydd Town as their new manager.
Porter has left along with his assistant Mark Lane and coach Shaun Welford as the management team seek out a new challenge.
The outgoing manager felt he had taken the club as far as he could.
He takes over a team that he once captained as a player and in a statement they said: “Scott will take the reins of the first team, bringing experience and pedigree both at this level and higher.”
Last weekend’s Kent Senior Trophy quarter-final defeat to Croydon left Blair with little to play for this season - except staying clear of relegation trouble.
Harvey Welford scored Saturday’s winner against Sutton Athletic to leave them nine points above the drop zone.
A Blair statement said: “The club would like to thank Scott and his management team for all their efforts while at the club.”
Porter led Blair to a Senior Trophy final where they lost to Sheppey United before enjoying SCEFL Challenge Cup success against Fisher in May last year.
Blair’s next match is on Saturday at home to Corinthian in the league.
