Gillingham managing director Joe Comper has admitted the frustration over tickets for their League 2 match at Bromley next month is “unavoidable”.

The Gills have been allocated 515 tickets for the match at Hayes Lane on Wednesday, December 4.

But demand will easily outstrip supply for the visiting supporters keen to make the short 30-mile trip.

Tickets go on sale today (Monday) from 9am. With more season-ticket holders than tickets available, the Gills have had to give priority to those who have seen the most away matches so far.

“I appreciate the frustration that many won’t be able to go to a game that will have been on the “to do” list this season,” said Comper on social media.

“The reality is the allocation given is about 15% of our season ticket numbers, so the frustration is unavoidable. We’ve tried to be as fair as possible.”

He added: “Season ticket holders do get a priority. The reality is that only 15% of the season ticket holders can go, so it’s right that a further priority is given to those that hold a season ticket and have travelled the most this season. Not ideal, but the best option available to us in my view.”

Season ticket holders who have attended all of Gillingham’s away league games can purchase their tickets today. Those who have been at six away games can purchase from Tuesday, five away games from Wednesday, four away games from Thursday, and three away games from Friday. Full details are available here.

Visiting fans will be situated in the North Stand (seated) and East Terrace (standing). The Gills have been given 240 seated tickets and 275 standing tickets.
