Gillingham kick off their Final Third Southern Development League campaign on Wednesday afternoon.
Six first team pros are set to start for the Gills while the rest of the team will be made up of youth and development players.
Amine Linganzi, Matt Fish, Antonio German, Devante McKain, Aaron Millbank and Josh Pritchard are set to feature in the home game against Cambridge United.
Linganzi has yet to play for the first team this season after struggling with a hamstring injury.
Gillingham are in an eight-team division and they will compete in league and cup games, with most home matches taking place at the club’s training ground.
Development boss Mark Patterson said: “We can’t lose sight of the fact that it’s still development football and we are still trying to develop the players but the competitive edge is there now.
“Teams will be going all out to win games and it’s important that we are able to manage situations in matches and gain experience needed for the players’ development.”
