Key Gillingham duo Doug Loft and Kortney Hause are closing in on a return.

Loft is back from suspension and will be hoping to shake off a calf injury to make his return at Fleetwood Town on Saturday.

England Youth international Hause is back training after picking up an injury a fortnight ago against Rochdale.

Both players are left-footed and will be welcome additions for boss Peter Taylor.

He said: “I like the balance of the left foot, I must admit. That is one of the reasons I wanted (new loan signing) Michael Doughty here because I would love to have a team of five left-footers.

“When Kortney plays, then you have Joe Martin and Doug Loft and Dickenson and Doughty, you have a chance.

“We will have to wait and see. I have to take into account who is fit and who is right for Saturday.”

Amine Linganzi, Aaron Morris (both hamstring) and Callum Davies (ankle) are definite non-starters.
