Gillingham boss Peter Taylor will be looking for his team to unsettle Doncaster early on when they meet this weekend.
Hosts Doncaster have won just once on their own soil in League 1 this season and the Gills will be looking to add further woes to the South Yorkshire side.
Taylor said: “We have looked at their home form and we know that if we have a good start then we might put them under a bit of pressure.
“Their home form hasn’t been as good as they would like. They have done well in the cup, but Iike anything, it is about how we start and how we prepare.
“If we start better than them I am sure their supporters will let them know they are not happy with them.”
Gills are looking to arrest an unwanted record of their own, as they chase their first away league win.
Despite the lack of points on the road there is no shortage of confidence after going five games unbeaten.
“It is a better feeling than what we had before,” said the Gills boss.
“That run wasn’t acceptable and we were always hoping we weren’t that far away.
“We’re feeling better now, we’ve had better results and hopefully we can keep it going.
“The players are certainly working hard for each other and I think we deserve an away win. We have to do it right at kick off time and if we do that right we give ourselves chance to get three points.”
Taylor’s team are in better form now but their situation remains precarious. They are one place outside the relegation places and three points off the bottom.
He said: “We know we are not that far away and we also know that at this level if slacken off and think we’ve gone five unbeaten we have cracked it, we will get punished.
“We have an awful long way to go but I know the team are improving and in certain spells in matches we are doing well and in other areas we can get better. As long as we are learning from it.”
