The Shouting Men with Gillingham striker Danny Kedwell

It was great to play a part in Tuesday’s win at Yeovil. I went on late in the game with the instructions to help see the match out and use my experience to calm it down. I felt I did that well.
It can be hard coming on for a short time because it usually takes 15-20 minutes to get going, but I did my job and we got through, which was brilliant.
We were pleased to have the Yeovil game so soon after the MK Dons match. When things haven’t gone right you want to make amends as quickly as possible.
To have gone 2-0 up against MK Dons and lose 4-2 was obviously disappointing, but we will learn lessons from that.
It was good to get a win under our belts at Yeovil and now we have the same opposition again this weekend at our place.
From what we have seen on Tuesday we know it won’t be an easy match and they will want to get one back at us. But if we play our game to the best of our abilities then we can come out with another win.
We went out with a different formation on Tuesday and I think it suited us. What we do this weekend is up to the manager, but whichever way we play we will be confident.
Some people might have noticed I’ve changed boots this season into the adidas Predators that lots of people were wearing at the World Cup.
I have worn Nike boots all my life, but in the last few years I’ve found they’ve been harder to break in so I made the switch.
I know some darts players change their arrows and it can have a negative effect, but I don’t see boots in the same way. It’s not about the boots I’m wearing, it’s down to my legs and feet.
I’m certainly not sentimental with them, either.
Most I give away, although I have kept the pair we won the League 2 championship in. That was a special season!
It was an honour to be named vice-captain last week. I am sure there will be times when Lofty, the new skipper, doesn’t get a game and I end up leading the side out, which will be special.
But whether I have the armband on or not, I will always be there to help others out.
With our keeper Nels out injured I’m the oldest player on the pitch now and I enjoy passing on my knowledge.
The Premier League kicks off this weekend and I think Arsenal could have a good shout this season, having seen them play Manchester City in the Community Shield last weekend. They’ve made some good signings and they’ll be a team to watch.
I’ll also be hoping Southampton do well, having lost so many players. My mate Paulo Gazzaniga plays there and we’re still good friends. I would like to see them do well.
