The Shouting Men with Gillingham defender Max Ehmer

Up until now my career has been pretty stop-start so I’m delighted to have signed permanently for the Gills.
I loved my first time here. Playing games was important and I got on really well with the manager.
The fans were great to me as well and they were tweeting me all the time over the summer, even when I was on holiday in Dubai, but I didn’t mind.
Rumours that I was in Dubai to meet the chairman weren’t true. I certainly didn’t go round for tea!
Now I am here I can concentrate on Gillingham 100% instead of being on loan and never knowing where I am going to be.
There is a big difference between this summer and last summer. The season before I was on the bench quite a bit for QPR and it was all up in the air. I didn’t know what I was doing but this year I am coming here and part of a first team.
It makes you feel a lot better about yourself, you want to come into work and you want to impress.
When I was at QPR, I didn’t know whether I was staying or going, it was confusing, but here even though pre-season has been hard, it has been enjoyable.
I did a fair bit of work over the summer and when the games with Gills finished I had to go back to QPR for another three weeks until their season was completed.
All the boys here were on holiday but I was still training. I eventually had a couple of weeks off but then started back at the gym to help me prepare.
