The British Truck Racing Championship will go ahead without spectators at Brands Hatch this weekend

Brands Hatch will host the British Truck Racing Championship this weekend but spectators can no longer attend.
The final round of the championship is allowed to take place, with two races on Saturday and another three on the Sunday.
The Kent circuit had significantly reduced capacity at the venue to adhere to previous Covid-19 regulations. Sunday was a sell-out but the new lockdown restrictions, which come in on Thursday, mean fans can no longer attend.
It was confirmed on Monday that the British Truck Racing Championship is classed as an elite sport, which means they can conclude the season in Kent. The government have said elite sports can continue. Brands have already had it confirmed that next weekend’s British Touring Car Championship finale can also take pace, again without spectators.
All non-elite motorsport has been suspended until December 2 and event permits have been withdrawn by Motorsport UK, the governing body for four-wheel motorsport in the UK.
Brands issued a statement on Monday, saying: “The British Truck Racing and British Touring Car Championships are both exempt and their final 2020 rounds will go ahead, behind closed doors without spectators, at Brands Hatch on 7/8 and 14/15 November respectively.”
All affected ticket holders will be entitled to a credit or refund. Car and bike trackdays at Brands have also been suspended for the period of the new lockdown.
Exclusive and semi-exclusive testing involving professional race teams will go ahead as planned, as will testing ahead of elite motorsport events, but general testing will be suspended.
Driving experiences will be postponed and will need to be re-booked.
The MSV Call Centre is open on 0843 453 9000 from 8.30am to 6pm weekdays (5pm on Friday) but with a large number of calls, waiting times may be longer than usual.
