Chatham boss Kevin Watson is refusing to take anything for granted this weekend.

Chats host struggling Great Wakering Rovers in Ryman League Division 1 North on Saturday but their manager is refusing to read anything into the league position of their opponents.

Watson's men sit 13th while Great Wakering are 23rd with just two wins to their name from 14 games.

He said: “I’m going to stop looking at the league table because it’s still false. I’ve made a conscious choice not to look at it.

“We’re going to take things one game at a time and concentrate on ourselves.”

Having let Lee Hales and Jamie Lawrence leave the club last week, Watson brought youngsters Austin Edwards and Anthony Carlton off the bench against Thamesmead in midweek after the pair had impressed while playing for Chatham’s under-21 side.

Included from the start were Chris Webber and Mason Bloomfield, who are on loan from Billericay and Dagenham & Redbridge respectively.

Brad Potter (personal reasons), Kane Phillip (work) and Corey Holder (injury) were all absent in midweek so could return to boost Chatham's options.
