Teams from around the globe, including Brazil, Japan, Australia and the United States, were competing for the title of World Cup Masters in Gymnastics.

Open to athletes aged 30 and above, the Masters Gymnastics World Cup provides a platform for seasoned gymnasts to showcase their talents.

This year marked Weller’s first appearance at the event, although he is no stranger to success, having previously secured multiple British Adult Gymnastics Championships.

Weller delivered an outstanding performance, finishing sixth individually in the over-40s age group for the entire World Cup.

His efforts extended to the men’s team event, where Great Britain achieved a commendable fourth place, trailing only behind Japan, Germany, and the United States. Impressively, the team improved their overall score compared to last year’s performance.

Reflecting on his experience, Weller expressed pride in his achievements and gratitude for the opportunity to compete on the world stage.

His dedication and skill have not only earned him personal accolades but also contributed to the growing reputation of adult British gymnastics on the international circuit.

Despite his demanding schedule as an officer in the Royal Navy, Weller continues to compete, judge and coach in the sport.

He holds the prestigious position of chairman at the British Schools Gymnastics Association, where he plays a crucial role in nurturing young talent through the non-elite pathway for school gymnasts. In addition, Weller also serves as the chairman of the Royal Navy Gymnastics Association.
