Invicta Dynamos got back to winning ways last weekend and hope the result can propel them into form.

The Mos had suffered four straight league defeats prior to a morale-boosting 7-1 victory over bottom side MK Thunder at Planet Ice.

Tougher challenges await but head coach Karl Lennon was pleased to see them put an end to a difficult run.

They now host Oxford City Stars (5.45pm) in the Southern Cup this Saturday before an away game in NIHL South Division 1 at Chelmsford Chieftains on Sunday.

“We sat on four losses so that win was massive for us,” said Lennon.

“Hopefully that can kickstart us back into some form this coming weekend with two tough games up ahead of us.

“Of course, the boys will be prepared this week accordingly to make sure we are ready to go.”

Lennon will hope to have more players at his disposal, having been hampered by injuries and suspensions in recent weeks.

They lost Owen Dell to a freak accident just before the MK match.

Lennon said: “We went into last weekend severely depleted. Injuries, illnesses and the two suspensions that were handed out to us on Friday, not ideal preparation, also compounded by the fact that we lost Owen Dell as we entered the ice on Saturday. He had a freak collision with another player and ultimately he is in a pretty bad way.

“He lost a couple of teeth and now hopefully we can get him on the mend as soon as possible.

“That is a sign of our luck at the moment. That said, that won’t stop us, we keep moving forward and we stay together.

“I dressed myself last Saturday, and that is not an ideal situation, we are trying to avoid that if we can.

“On a more positive note we managed to get a debut for Dan Alabaster, who did fantastic. A 16-year-old lad who skated tirelessly when he was on the ice and he worked super hard. I was really pleased that he was part of a good win for us.”
