Gills defender Adam Barrett is eligible to face Liverpool in the FA Cup.
The 35-year-old has been on loan at AFC Wimbledon since the start of the season.
Wimbledon face Liverpool at home in the FA Cup third round on Monday.
Both Wimbledon and the Gills initially announced Barrett’s deal would expire on January 4 – the day before the Dons’ big FA Cup game.
But Wimbledon manager Neil Ardley has revealed that Barrett will be eligible after all.
He said: “Adam is eligible to play. We had the foresight to put the dates when the loan expired back until after we thought the FA Cup ties would end.”
Barrett will be joined by former Gillingham striker Adebayo Akinfenwa in the team to face Liverpool.
Former Gills captain Barry Fuller is also hoping to shake off a hamstring injury so he can play in the televised match.
Barrett could either return to the Gills following his loan stint or stay on until the remainder of the season. He is out of contract in the summer.
He has been a regular starter since making the switch to Wimbledon, making 29 appearances for the League 2 side.
