Chatham Town’s unbeaten start to the league season will be challenged by another of the division’s early pace-setters.
James Collins’ side host a Beckenham Town outfit who have started their Premier Division season with three wins from three.
Chats have won four of their first five, drawing just one of those, to set up what should be an interesting battle at Maidstone Road.
Ahead of Saturday’s game, Collins said: “We know a little bit what to expect, we’re two unbeaten sides in the league and it should be a good game.
“I wanted to play the good sides early on and Beckenham will be up there.
“We’ve played Corinthian and Canterbury and their only losses were against us, Hollands & Blair away on a Bank Holiday after playing the Saturday was tough and Punjab raised their game against us. It would be disrespectful to say they will be the toughest we’ve faced but it will be up there.”
Collins men sit top of the table but he knows there are plenty of tough games ahead.
“It’s a tough league, all the games are,” he said.
“Sheppey or Lordswood away, those are tough too, there are no easy games. We are doing alright though, we are top after five games and I would have taken that.”
Matt Parsons was missing out injured on Monday but has a chance of returning this weekend.
