Rachael Burford will be heading to New Zealand in July after being included in the latest women’s England rugby squad.
She has also been selected for the forthcoming European Sevens Series.
Last weekend the Medway-born rugby player was involved in the World Sevens Series in Amsterdam, where England finished second in the inaugural IRB competition.
England’s priority is the Rugby Sevens World Cup, taking place next month in Russia and Burford will be looking to be a part of it.
The opening round of the European Sevens Series takes place in Brive on June 1.
Meanwhile, her hopes of making next summer’s Rugby World Cup in France are also on course, after being named in the squad for the three-Test series against reigning champions New Zealand in July.
The squad will then head to Denver to defend their Nations Cup title where they take on Canada, the USA and South Africa in July and August.
England head to New Zealand on the back of two consecutive series wins against the Black Ferns in 2011 and 2012 but the visitors have not played on their turf since 2005 or won a game in New Zealand since 2001.
