Gillingham have strengthened their defensive department with a signing from Championship side Bristol City.
Robbie Cundy, 23, spent the first half of the season on loan at League 2 leaders Cambridge United, where he played against the Gills in the EFL Trophy.
Gills boss Steve Evans said: "I have tracked the lad since I first watched him for Bristol City in a closed door game last season. He was impressive.
“I was very impressed with him when he played against us earlier this season and obviously we have watched him since with interest.
“He is young and ambitious, he demonstrated very clearly he wanted to join us, we all wish him the very best."
Cundy has had spells on loan at Exeter City, Torquay United and Cambridge United since he joined Bristol City. He moved to the Robins after impressing while at Bath City but has yet to make an appearance for them in the Championship.
He started out at Aston Villa and then Oxford United before moving into the non-league scene, with Oxford City, Southport and Gloucester.
His last game for Cambridge United was on Saturday in a goalless draw against Bradford City. He made 23 appearances for United, helping them to seven clean sheets, before being recalled and subsequently loaned out to Gillingham.
He is now available for Gills' home game against Crewe tomorrow (Tuesday) night.
