Chatham have turned to James Collins in a bid to revitalise their fortunes
The former Lordswood and Cray Valley manager will take charge this weekend when Chats host Beckenham Town.
It’s a quick appointment for Chatham, who last week parted company with Paul Piggott.
Collins has already made a name for himself in the Southern Counties East, improving the fortunes of his last two clubs.
Chats chairman Kevin Hake hopes he can now work his magic at Maidstone Road.
He said: “I feel the supporters deserve something back now.
“They had a rough ride when the club was in Ryman North and it wasn’t too enjoyable back in the South.
“He’s coming in to sort the club out on the field and we will ensure things are taken care off it so that he has the tools to succeed.”
